Streams of Joy Devotional(Monday September 9)
"Now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world,he loved them unto the end".(John 13 vs 1).That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional Today.
Today's Focal Scripture reveals that Jesus loved His disciples till the end. At this stage,Jesus was yet to be crucified; He was still human. So,in his human state,He loved His disciples till the end. In His mortal state,He showed them unconditional love. Even when they failed or disappointed Him,He still loved them. His was a classic example of Unconditional Love.
Isn't it true that unlike Jesus,we are often tempted to love people conditionally, according to what they have done or what they deserve? Sometimes,we show love for a while, only to give up. It becomes even more ridiculous when we show love to people only when we have something to gain from them.
Friend,God says, show unconditional love to people around you. Its not enough to confess or profess love;God says,Show it. Its not enough to love people when it is easy;love them even when love becomes an inconvenience. Show love to people even when they give you reasons not to love them anymore.
Love is a deep conviction rooted in the spirit,it lives in the soul and it manifests through actions and feelings. Love is not emptiness looking for filling;it is an overflow searching for expression. Love is not a mere theory that is worth confessing, the essence of Love lies in the deed. Don't wait to receive love, give someone,I mean everyone Love today.
Jesus hardly spent time talking about His Love for His disciples; He just showed it. If you love someone, then show it;If you can't show it,then stop saying it.
The true test of Love is when you can love the unlovable!
Pray with me,"Lord, give me Grace to manifest uncondtional Love to everyone in Jesus name".
Have a Blessed Monday and a most rewarding Week!
