It is important to note that a Shepherd is one who takes care of sheep. So, David described God as his shepherd,he was indirectly describing himself as a sheep under God. The word 'Sheep' is derived from the Greek word 'PROBATON'. One of the meanings of PROBATON is that which moves forward.
So,when he described God as his Shepherd,David indirectly described himself as one who moves forward under God. When he described God as his shepherd, he indirectly affirmed that when he submits himself to God in true worship and devotion, his progress is certain. When he described God as his Shepherd,he was simply announcing that under God,he won't retrogress.
Friend,If God is your Shepherd, then hear this: You shall move forward. Progress is certain in your destiny if you are operating under God's guidance and control. Your destiny will not suffer stagnation under God.
Each day you say- THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD, you are also saying I WILL MOVE FORWARD! Wow! Its in your DNA to move forward. You are simply unstoppable. Let the demons of hell send their arrows, you will still move forward. Let depression,frustration and unfulfilled expectations show up, you will still move forward. Even if a door closes, God will open the windows of heaven for you because there is a mandate on your life to move forward. Let them throw banana peels on your path, you will still move forward!
